Leader of the Month: Over Easy
Posted on 22 November 2017
Thanks for joining us for our fourth and final blog for the month of November. Excited to do a bit of Q&A with you all!
Why did you get up today?
Many of my coaches, my parents, influencers, motivators, have said this at one point or another. You either get better today, stay the same, or take a step back. It can be cliche, but it’s the truth. You can either step up and push yourself to learn something new or improve on something. You can stay stagnant in the same place, or you can regress.
We definitely push ourselves to get better every day. Whether that’s working on our current projects, developing at our current jobs, or planning for the future. This is the reason we wake up every day.
How do you want to be remembered?
This is an awesome question and something that we think about from time to time, for sure. As people as well as artists, we want to be known as the people who do everything for the right reason. For example, we don’t make our music with the end goal of being famous with mansions and the nicest cars, we do it because we took genuine interest in it from the beginning. We want to use the platform to make others happy, give back to the community
What is the biggest risk you've ever taken, and how did you push yourself to overcome it?
For us, I would say putting out that first track to the public was the most nerve wracking moment we have had. We probably could have gone years without actually putting something out there for the world to see if we didn’t put our foot down. It came to the point where people knew what we were doing behind the scenes but had never heard anything, and as a group we decided it was time to just take that risk of judgement and forget about the insecurities and do it. It all ended up okay!
What is one piece of advice you would give to someone who wants to make a difference in their community?
Just go for it. Don’t be afraid of outside judgement. This opportunity with YXU has been one of the more gratifying experiences we have had knowing we are helping others who may be less fortunate than us. If you have the right intentions, you should never have to think about outside perceptions of yourself. Just go out there and do it!
To conclude, this has been such an amazing opportunity for us to contribute in a positive way with so much craziness going on in the world. We hope you enjoyed some of our story and thank you so much for the support for Team Joseph. This is only the beginning of our journey, and we hope to continue to make you all proud. Have a Happy and Blessed Thanksgiving!
