Leave Your Mark Tour: Day 7
Posted on 13 September 2017
The founders of YXU have embarked on a 8 day road trip titled the “Leave Your Mark” tour to celebrate the one year anniversary of launching YXU. They will be traveling to Washington D.C, New York City, and Boston to volunteer in the community and network with community leaders to share YXU’s mission with a new audience.
We took another pause from running around Boston today to get out and connect with people about their passions, their communities, and how they can use their passion to impact their community. We spent the morning canvasing the campus of Harvard University and got to meet countless students, faculty, and tourists across the historic grounds. As we got to meeting future leaders and current experts in their respective fields, one thing that stood out in everyone that we met was their deep interest in complex problems, and an unparalleled belief that they could contribute to solutions to those problems. We chronicled our interactions in pictures on Instagram account (@yxulife), which is also available at the bottom of our homepage.
We capped off our last night in Boston way we could think of: at Legal Seafood dining on the best seafood the city had to offer. We celebrated a week of connecting with leaders up and down the east coast, getting involved in new neighborhoods and communities, and growing the reach and impact of the YXU community.
I love the city of Boston. It was such a cool experience to be able to explore the city and connect with people from across the world. All of us need to prioritizing taking the time to meet and connect with people with new and different ideas, backgrounds and beliefs.
When I think about the history and the leaders associated with Harvard University I can't help but be in awe. It was a fantastic opportunity to be able to connect with the future leaders on campus, and become a small part of that history.
After days of waiting, I finally got my Lobster. It was fun getting to celebrate the connections we were able to make over the past week over a nice meal with good friends.
